Paying homage to Hawaiian quilting and its history. Hawaiians were introduced to quilting by the first missionaries who arrived in the islands in the early 1820's. Hawaiian women were taught to sew and soon created their own designs and patches depicting native plants and flowers.
This Lokelani pattern represents the Heavenly rose of Maui. Symbolizing love, beauty, and peace, the Lokelani flower embodies Maui's island charm.
